World Harvest Radio from Palau T8WH - Angel 3

WHR (World Harvest Radio)   from Palau  was received on 23 Jun 2013 on 9930 khz from 1230 to 1300 UTC. Religious program 'Eternal Good news' was heard at the time of  monitoring. SINPO was 44334.

Reception report was sent via WHR website. A  QSL verification arrived in the mailbox after six months later on 5th December 2013.

Radio New Zealand International in English transmitted  from Rangitaiki was received on 15720 at 1100UTC on 1st December 2013.
At 110UTC Church music and followed by a documentary program on Bahai Faith.
SINPO was 34333.

Reception report was posted on  2nd December 2013.

KTWR DRM Test Broadcast to SE Asia From Guam

KTWR (Trance World Eadio) DRM  Test Broadcast from Guam  was received on 6th November on 15445 khz from 1500 to 1530 UTC. Intermittent but high quality sound was received.

The following equipments were used for DRM reception on PC Hardware : RTL-SDR (R820T DVB-T) +  NooElec RF Upconverter
Software : SDR Sharp + dream

Voice Of Russia English via Novosibirsk

Voice Of Russia's English broadcast was received on 20 September 2013 via Novosibirsk TX.  At 1400UTC Radio VR News update by Jay johnson and then News in details was heard. Reception was good. SINPO: 44434
Reception report was emailed on the same day. A thank you email message from Elena Osipova with Summer 2013 programme schedule was received in 24 hours.

A  QSL verification arrived in mailbox on 30th September 2013.  Many Thanks to Radio VR (Voice of Russia) for the prompt reply .

PCJ Radio International via Trincomalee, Sri Lanka

At last PCJ Radio International verified my reception report of 16th and 30th June 2013 of their first series of test broadcasts on 11835 kHz by snail mail QSL letter.

AIR DRM Sinhala Service on 15050 khz (-5khz USB)

AIR DRM Sinhala Service was received on 15050 (-5khz USB) from 1336 to 1345 hrs UTC on 25th August 2013. No sound due to poor signal but Station Information were received.

Same equipment were used (RTL-SDR +  NooElec RF Upconverter and  SDR Sharp + dream.


Bangkok Radio volmet broadcast from Thailand on 6676 khz USB



Bangkok Radio volmet broadcast  from Thailand was monitored on 6676 khz USB from 1720-1722 hrs UTC on 25 th August 2013..
During the period of broadcast meteorological information were given.


SINPO was 44444. Good signal strength and fair clarity was noted.

AIR Chinsurah DRM testing on Medium wave 594 khz USB

All India Radio Chinsurah New DRM transmitter testing was observed on 594 khz medium wave at 2000 Hrs UTC on 25th August 2013. High quality sound was heard but some disturbance was noted during the  monitoring period.
Hindi songs (Gazals) were playing At  a 2010 hrs UTC . The following video shows it.

AIR Vividh Bharati DRM on 15140 khz (USB -5khz)

All India Radio Vividh Bharati DRM on 15140 khz. Only data and very intermittent sound was received on 21 August 2013.  Station was playing Hindi Oldies music at around 1710 hrs UTC. No transmission was observed after1715 hrs UTC.

BBC DRM on 5845 khz via Nakhon Sawan, Thailand

BBC's DRM broadcast was received on 5845 khz via Nakhon Sawan, Thailand on 11th August 2013. Very good reception and high quality sound was observed.
Live radio coverage from Moscow on 'World Athletics Championships 2013' was heard on 1650 hrs UTC.

Myanmar Radio (MRTV) from Nay Pyi Taw (Tatkone) transmitter

Myanmar Radio was logged on 16th July 2013. Their English language news and English pop songs  programing to domestic audience was observed from 1530 hrs to 1557 hrs UTC on 5985 khz.
  SINPO rating from 1530 to 1556 hrs UTC was 44434. at 1557 it was severely affected (interference)  by CRI Swahili on the same frequency and SINPO deteriorate to 42232.

Reception report was sent shortly after the broadcast end by email and posted on the following day. I got a following reply within 24 hrs from MRTV

    
They also promised to send a QSL by post soon in another email.

PCJ Radio International via Trincomalee, Sri Lanka

PCJ Radio International broadcasting from Taiwan, transmitted via Trincomalee, Sri Lanka, was heard on 30 June 2013. Their seventh test broadcast commenced a half hour later to get rid of co-channel QRM. Programme started at 1330 UTC with Andy Sennitt's "Focus Asia Pacific",  at 1345 Tecsun shortwave receiver advertisement and followed by "PCJ Happy Station Show".

Overall reception on 11.835 kHz at the time of sign on was very good SINPO 55444 . Excellent audio clarity despite slight fading.

Around 1341 UTC, suddenly atmospheric noise increased ( QRN) including transmitter hum and fading and reception deteriorate to 45333. At 1351 UTC, reception improved to 55444.
Fading and severe transmitter hum 
overruled the transmitting audio by around at1402 UTC. At 1414 UTC, hum and fading completely gone, reception improve to  55545.

A reception report was emailed shortly after the broadcast end.

Vatican Radio via Tinang, Philipines

Vatican Radio's English broadcast to South Asia was observed from 1530 hrs to 1550 hrs UTC on 15110 khz via Tinang on 26th June2013.
A commentary was heard on
Pope Francis’s weekly address to general audience. Next 'Rights and wrongs', a Weekly human rights feature.
SINPO was 45433 good signal strength with slight fading otherwise clear speech and music observed.

Received a reply email from P.J. Joseph. S.J,  confirming with a promised QSL card after seven days.

Galei Zahal from Tel Aviv-Yavne Israel

Galei Zahal, Broadcasting Station of Israel Defense Forces from Tel Aviv-Yavne. This 10Kw station was observed on 15850 khz from 1849 hrs to 1959 hrs UTC on 21 June 2013. Programming was in Hebrew and consisted of  talk with Hebrew and English songs.  At 1853 UTC a song of Michael Jackson was played. At 1858 UTC  Galei zahal announcement and advertisement of Galei zahal radio and followed by news headlines.  

 Signal (SINPO) at 1849  UTC was 25232. weak signal strength degraded largely by atmospheric noise and  moderate fading, otherwise music and speech was audible, but not always clear.

Grundig Satellit 750/Tecsun S 20000 and Sony ICF SW 7600 GR were used to monitor the broadcasts.

Reception report  was sent by email shortly after listening to the station and via snail mail with one IRC on 22nd June, 2013.

PCJ Radio International via Trincomalee, Sri Lanka


PCJ Radio International English transmission was logged on 16th June 2013. Their fifth test transmission received from  Trincomalee shortwave  facilities on 11835khz. "Focus Asia Pacific" and "The Happy Station Show" was heard from 13.00 to 14.00 UTC. SINPO was  54544. Very good signal strength some moderate QRM from a station sharing the same frequency but this interference  disappeared at around 13.25 UTC. reception improved and stayed excellent at 55555.
Email reception report was sent  on the following day.  I received an eQSL in 48 hours from Mr. Victor Goonetillake. On the very next day a follow up snail mail report was posted to PCJ's Taiwan address.

Radio Free Asia's Korean broadcast was observed via IBB Tinian on 9975 khz from 1715 hrs  to 1735 hrs UTC on 15th June 2013. SINPO at 1715 UTC was 43344. Reception report submitted on http://techweb.rfa.org/

Acknowledgment received shortly after the report submission with the following information
  'Thank you for your QSL Report submission   It will be processed and mailed to the registered address.'
